The room was charming on a quiet street only 20 minutes from the city centre and 15 minutes from the marathon start line; it was clean and comfortable, and the microwave, kettle and small fridge were really handy, plus the fruit and snacks were a thoughtful touch. Ashley replied quickly and was very helpful, and the booklet with local pubs and restaurants was great (The Mason's Arms lived up to its reputation). It’s a perfect base for exploring the beautiful city of York.

Welcoming host. Lovely bathroom. Thoughtful additions to room and good local information. Great idea to have a 'mini bar' in the hallway. Would recommend

The room was comfortable with a large private bathroom, and all essentials—iron, microwave, cutlery—were supplied. Fruit and biscuits were nice extras, and free parking was available. The area was quiet, with a couple of good cafés nearby and a supermarket, and the centre was about a 15‑minute walk.
