The dinner was too small, I was hungry and couldn't sleep.
“普通”
Close to Sanpo Matsubara. The breakfast volume is insufficient.
“Établissement qui ne vaut pas ses quatre étoiles.”
The location was good. The property is old, and we found a huge cockroach that we captured and brought to reception, but the owner didn’t even apologize. At the entrance we’re given a list of restrictions, and all our requests—like going into the garden or getting an extra egg—were denied. The staff were cold, and the equipment was outdated. Poor value for money.
Excellent location, service, comfort, and breakfast. Everything is impeccable.
“Japanese hospitality at its best.”
The Japanese breakfast was tasty, and even though I avoid raw eggs, the staff whipped up a delicious omelette for me—very friendly. The hotel sits right next to a pine forest and a beach, so I could catch a glimpse of Fuji san before the tourist crowds hit on an early morning walk. There are several restaurants and cafés in the area. The shuttle bus service was excellent, though you could also walk from the stop in about 10‑15 minutes; the route to Hotel Hagoromo is clearly marked. On the downside, my room was spacious and comfortable, but I should have chosen a garden‑view room and paid a bit more; the one I had overlooked a walking path, and people could see in, so I kept the shoji closed most of the time. The owner kindly offered to switch me to a better room for the second night, but the first night was fully booked and I wasn’t up for packing and moving—still, it was nice that he tried to accommodate me.
