The location is very good, the bay is a five‑minute walk away and is one of the most beautiful on the island. Bike rental worked fantastically, though it was on the expensive side for the island (350 THB per day); the bikes were in good condition, the rental process was very easy, and they are necessary for getting around the island. The hotel offers free pickup and drop‑off from the harbor. The view from the hotel, if you look past the construction, is very good, as it is everywhere in Thailand. The staff were sadly not very welcoming or engaged. Throughout our stay we faced multiple disappointments in our interactions with the staff, from check‑in to check‑out. (This does not include everyone; the hotel had two younger guys with a lot of energy, which carried the hotel's performance through our stay.) After checking in we looked down a corridor with broken tiles, no lights and missing renovations. The room was okay; however, our room had a connecting door to the neighboring room, which offered very little sound insulation and significantly affected our sense of privacy. Breakfast was another disappointment; there is a menu to choose from (eggs or rice, which was nice) and a buffet that resembles the contents of a first‑semester university student's fridge. Just a heads‑up: dinner being open until 20:30 should ensure that guests can order at 19:30 without being told the restaurant is closed.
