Nice infrastructure, but the Wi‑Fi was bad.

Our confirmed and paid booking was cancelled by the lodge with less than 24 hours notice while we were already in Kenya; they offered us unsuitable alternatives, so we asked for a refund, but the lodge did not respond at all and I had to sort it out after we returned to the UK. A confirmed and paid booking should not be cancelled like that.

The breakfast was the highlight of our whole Kenya trip, offering cereal with milk and yoghurt, bread with cold cuts and jam, pancakes, waffles, eggs, and fruit—really tasty. The bathroom was spacious and the beds large, while the kids adored the bunk beds. Turn‑down service included hot water bottles, and the view plus pool area were beautiful. On the downside, service and food quality varied a lot depending on who was around, and the mattress on the double bed was extremely hard and uncomfortable.

Food was great, the staff friendly, and the chilled music lovely. The location was very close to Solio Game Reserve. However, the road and barking dogs caused noise, and the mattresses are starting to feel a bit worn—maybe they should be replaced soon. Also, early plugs for guests would be helpful.
