The staff were friendly, the dinner at the Boma was nice, and there was contact with students and teachers from the attached school, but not every room had chairs in front of the Rondavell.

I was invited to celebrate the lodge’s 14th anniversary, received a tasty lunch on the house, and felt fully welcomed into the community; the traditional African huts and the outstanding breakfast were highlights, and the village tour with the pottery workshop turned out to be a pleasant surprise, but the Wi‑Fi was bad and there was no air conditioning.

This spot is a very nice and intriguing place outside the usual routes in Namibia, where the focus is on the people and their activities rather than animals or scenery, making it a fantastic stop—happy we chose it.

The hospitality here is authentically Namibian.

The lodge is a little hidden gem with beautiful, spacious rooms in individual huts built largely from recycled material; we stayed two nights and one evening served traditional Owambo dishes—maybe not for everyone, but definitely worth trying—and the breakfast was very generous.
