The room was clean and had a microwave, but we couldn’t watch TV—only radio was available.

The decor, safety, and location were good, but the bed was hard and uncomfortable. Lime buildup in the shower head splashed water everywhere, making it hard to rinse off body wash, and there was spoiled milk in a small glass container in the fridge.

The place was clean, comfortable, and the hosts were friendly, private and quiet. The shower was a problem—no door, which made it cold in winter. A reviewer mentioned the same issue and the host said it was for a rustic feel, but no one likes to be cold. If you’re there in winter, buy a small heater; they charge R100 per night for one, so for 2+ nights it’s worth it. It was cold.
