Very quiet and clean, and the night sky is gorgeous. The place is about an hour’s drive from Big Bend, with the last three miles on gravel; I’d recommend a pickup or SUV. There’s no way to heat food in the room, and the only restaurant is closed on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Very cute and welcoming. A little out of the way and far from Terlingua and Big Bend. The fridge wasn’t working.

Great for stargazing and enjoying the peace and quiet. Really in the middle of nowhere. About 5km dirt road to get to the property

I landed in the mountains and the view was actually pretty good, tucked away in the hills. The restaurant/bar in front of the hotel was supposed to be open but it was closed without any heads‑up. We had already driven 8 h and were hoping to grab a drink, but the 50 min drive—10 min of chaotic off‑road—made it impossible to eat. When we asked the staff, they just told us to call ahead. The room didn’t match the photos; it felt more like a motel. The AC was loud and old, and the bungalow shown online is actually split into four parts. It’s fine for two people, but I’m not sure how families manage with that space.

The hotel is far from city noise yet still offers comfortable lodging, and there’s a place to eat on site, which is great for visiting BIG BEND.
