Located just half a mile from Leeds city centre, ibis Leeds Centre Marlborough Street features modern rooms with satellite TV, private bathrooms, air-cooling systems, and tea/coffee facilities. The hotel is a 10-minute walk from the popular shopping streets and Victoria Quarter, and a 15-minute walk from the historic Leeds Cathedral, with the Royal Armouries Museum a 10-minute drive away.

The location works, but the sheets were uncomfortable and itchy. A toilet pipe stuck in the corner made a loud crashing noise every time someone used the toilet, and the bathroom drains gave off a strong smell when the tap ran.

The spot is great, and parking is free overnight over the road. The room was spotless, and the breakfast and coffee were solid. The bar was decent, and Wi‑Fi was free.

I found the location unbeatable and the price surprisingly low, and the breakfast was a real highlight. The shower was spacious, and parking was conveniently just across the road. However, the room had a strong drain odor that seemed to affect my sister on the same 5th floor too. Housekeeping was a bit overzealous, knocking repeatedly until we answered, and on the second day someone even opened the door without knocking. Remember to put up a do‑not‑disturb sign.

It wasn’t too far from the university, but the pillows were very uncomfortable, breakfast was a mess, I had to eat my cooked breakfast with a spoon because they ran out of cutlery, the scrambled eggs were horrible, and the juice had no juice in it.
