Everything was fine except for a few quirks: housekeeping came daily but the “please clean the room” sign could hang for three or four hours, and they often didn’t finish before lunch; the food selection was decent for lunch and dinner, but the desserts (mostly various suflés and mannikins) and the fruit (watermelon, cantaloupe, plums, apples, oranges, nectarines) were under‑ripe and seemed to need another week to mature—though the watermelon and cantaloupe were usually sweet, the latter only for the first two days; breakfast was a problem with a mountain of cold meat slices and sausages that tasted downright inedible, so fewer but edible options would have been better; finally, the soundproofing promised online was lacking, as I could hear the street, neighboring rooms and especially doors slamming in other rooms.
