The location is very close to Catania Central Train Station and not far from the town centre (Duomo). The host agreed to a 12 pm check‑in, but I received no pre‑arrival instructions and assumed someone would be there. I only got the details at 12:20 pm, and after waiting an hour I had to go to a bar with free Wi‑Fi to check my email. The worst part was that I couldn’t find any Wi‑Fi login information in the room; I sent the host several times for the details but got no reply. The host apparently sent a message the night before (around 10 pm) when I checked out.

Things were okay overall; the location is good, close to bus stops and restaurants. The room itself was clean, the air‑conditioning worked well, and there was a fridge, though it was non‑functional and I couldn’t figure out why it was there. The owners were fine, responded to questions, and could give advice, but they should check everything in the room before new guests arrive. The only downside was the shower cabin: the “shower” was a disaster, the door was broken, water wouldn’t drain, and it was clogged from day one. I wrote to the owner, and they tightened the water so I couldn’t wash my head.

Very clean and modern room with a comfortable bed, but the shower had poor water pressure, ants were in the room, and the fridge wasn’t working.

“Kiepsko”

We expected a pleasant stay because of the high ratings, yet the room and bathroom were dirty. The surfaces seemed fine, but the ventilation grille, shower, and indoor air conditioning were filthy and moldy. The shower enclosure was leaky. We had to use the air conditioning because it was hot, and there was no window inside. We also reported that the fridge wasn’t working—an absolute horror since it was scorching outside and we couldn’t keep anything cool. The owner knew about the malfunction, blamed previous renters, and didn’t intend to fix it, which was extremely dismissive. Staying there felt like an unpleasant obligation.
