Beautiful location near the source of the Amazon. Facilities basic but comfortable. Enthusiastic guides who really tailor and explore the area with guests. Meals varied and very tasty. Highly recommend, also for families (we traveled with kids 7 & 10). Nothing! Stay definitely 3 nights to see and do everything.

Libertad’s location and the tours were the best parts – you get to see and do some wonderful things, and our guide Remi was the highlight of the trip. However, the lodging itself was a different story: the facilities fell far short of what even a budget hotel should provide. Cleanliness was a major problem; on the first night we entered a room swarming with cockroaches, and only after we complained were we moved to another room. The wooden cabins are riddled with holes, letting insects in easily. We didn’t expect luxury in the jungle, but basic upkeep would make a huge difference – sealing the gaps with silicone, taking out trash regularly, and supplying clean towels should be standard. In fact, they never removed the rubbish and gave us the same towels from the cockroach‑infested room. A small fan would also be a big help in the heat. The complimentary drinking water tasted bad and the food was unremarkable. To make matters worse, I got diarrhea on the second day; my doctor later said it was likely salmonella, and the lunch that day featured chicken. I’ve heard other tourists report stomach issues too. The lodge really needs to raise its food safety and hygiene standards, because guests’ health should never be jeopardized. While some of these flaws might be tolerable at a ultra‑cheap lodge, paying 5‑star rates should guarantee basic cleanliness, maintenance, and hygiene.

The organization was flawless, from the pick‑up and drop‑off in Iquitos to the on‑site activities and meals. The food was delicious, and the small‑group tours added real value. I definitely recommend this hotel, and the staff always prepared the right gear for the weather and the excursions.

A wonderful spot with a charming staff and incredibly tasty food. The excursions are lovely for immersing yourself in this well‑maintained, beautiful environment. I highly recommend it. Nothing to add.
