Hidden Canyon Retreat

This place is AWESOME!!! It is one of the best places we've stayed at during our visit to over 20 national parks. It's very convenient to Great Basin National Park and tucked into a scenic canyon with lots of wild turkeys and deer. You will have everything you need for a comfortable stay, including access to the grills. BONUS - We received breakfast tokens which can be used to purchase items - including non-breakfast items - from their convenience store. We bought a couple of steaks, cooked them on the grill and enjoyed a fantastic dinner. Highly recommended. Nothing could have been better - it was perfect. Just be aware that you will need to drive over an unpaved road, but it is in very good condition. Also, the wifi / internet occasionally drops but restores fairly quickly

“Beautiful place to Stargaze and watch the wildlife.”

Got tokens instead of breakfast, letting me buy stuff at the store or NP park snack bar. I wish the room had a bigger fridge or a large cooler, and an ice machine would help since I bring my own food.

“Made our visit to Great Basin even better.”

This was one of the best places we stayed during our 30‑day West trip; the setting was beautiful, the place was clean, and the staff were very accommodating.

“Less than four hours.”

The staff were the highlight. There was no cell service, which was a drawback. During a rainstorm the entire property lost power; no one was around to explain the expected recovery time. It seemed more likely to be a water issue than an electrical one, but we didn’t stay to find out. We packed up and left, heading back toward Ely. The highway was washed out in three spots, but we made it back by nightfall, with just enough miles left on the EV to get charged enough to head down the loneliest highway. The timing was off; it’s probably the perfect place to see the stars when there are no clouds and storms.

“Wonderful experience. Highly recommend.”

I loved it. It’s close to Great Basin National Park, the facility is quiet with friendly staff, and it’s perfect! I can’t think of anything that could be better.
