I stayed here eight years ago and came back recently; the staff were still friendly, and the location remains great.

The hotel’s location makes it easy to explore Edinburgh on foot, with all major sights within reach. Everything else was fine, but I’d suggest adding a few hooks for towels.

The front desk staff were attentive, helpful, and friendly. Breakfast was varied and pretty good, and we even got to enjoy a drink at the hotel bar, which was nice. The location is perfect—just 20‑30 minutes on foot to the city centre, and if you’re not up for walking, there’s a bus or tram from Haymarket that’s only 10 minutes lower. The only thing that caught us off guard was the lack of toilet brushes; maybe the hotel could add some.
