“Close to the beach, Costa Rica vibes hostel”

The hostel feels a bit dated and could use some fresh paint, but it’s a solid spot for a short stay. The owners are friendly, there are a few chill corners, and you’re just a two‑minute walk from the beach where you can watch the sunset with your own coffee. I ended up sharing a single room with a couple of geckos and had a decent time. The only real annoyances were the hard‑to‑find light switches and a bathroom that looks like it’s overdue for an upgrade.

The staff were unbelievably warm and welcoming – I felt right at home from the moment I arrived. The rooms were spotless, nicely decorated, and had a cozy vibe. Honestly, I can’t think of anything that bothered me.

Great location, right near everything, and the family‑run staff were genuinely kind. The only downside was the kitchen closing early, which left us without cold drinks in the heat; a tiny fridge in the room would have been a lifesaver.

The place is conveniently close to the city centre, but the rooms left a lot to be desired. The single room we booked first night was tiny, even though it had its own bathroom. The next night we were moved to a female dorm that was swarming with flying ants, and the only remedy the owners offered was two beds in a mixed dorm. Ants were getting in through holes, so pest control is needed.
