The stay was excellent, a stylish venue with superb amenities and service; the staff were friendly and met all our needs.

The staff were absolutely amazing and attentive, and the chef cooked wonderfully. The pool looked stunning and the view of the mangroves was great, plus there were kayaks and paddles available to explore the lagoon. After we changed our booking, we ended up in a villa, but the comfort level was far below what the price promised. The balcony railing on the first floor was completely broken, so our kids couldn't stay there without constant supervision.
Excellent breakfast (among the best we had in 24 days in Sri Lanka), the manager was available to help fill our second day – we loved the tuk‑tuk ride through Kalpitiya and the boat trip, both with the same local guide who knew all the little secrets travelers enjoy discovering – and the chef's friendliness and kindness. It's not that we didn't like it, but potential guests should know the resort is in the middle of nowhere. It's a beautiful, well‑maintained, peaceful place and, in my view, worth visiting, but you rely on tuk‑tuk for any travel you want to do. Meals are only at the resort – where, otherwise, the food is good – since options in Kalpitiya are very, very limited.
