The location was fine. We arrived on July 11 and I was the only one who had to go down to check in, grab our key, and then head out to explore the town. We reached the room after dark and discovered the AC was broken. I texted the host, but she didn’t respond until 5:24 am, telling us we could move into another room, so we did. In the morning, we realized we’d booked and paid for a duplex studio apartment with two king beds, yet they handed us a standard room with two double beds instead. I texted the host again, at which point she admitted a mistake had been made and instructed us to move once more. We finally settled into the room we originally reserved. After checkout, I asked for a refund of the price difference because we received a lower‑quality room and had to move twice. She said she was checking with the owners, but has since stopped replying to my messages.

Everything was fantastic! We loved the cozy décor of this place. I want to highlight how friendly and efficient Mariana and Ada were, making our stay in Bacalar a wonderful experience!
