We’re leaving this wonderful place that felt like home for a week. We nicknamed the owner, Ilaria, our lighthouse because she takes care of everything in detail, from excursions to simple walks and the typical evenings she organized—memorable fun. The food was excellent, all homemade. The staff were very friendly and always smiling. With her trusted guide Thomas, we always felt safe and were given all the directions to move freely on our own. Ilaria is a force of nature and without her the vacation wouldn’t have been the same. The highlight of the place is becoming one family with other guests, which makes everything special and leaving is really hard. I’m more convinced that this type of accommodation is the right choice to experience Zanzibar, a borrowed piece of the world for a few days that ends up keeping a small part of you.
