Free parking was available in front of the hostel in a private area, and the spots were clearly marked for hostel guests. Parking is usually a major factor when booking, often second only to price, yet most places never clarify whether it’s free or not, public or private, where exactly, etc. Many properties, even those with private spots, fail to state this clearly or explain how to access them. I praise Kagu Hostel for making parking so straightforward. However, there was no option to pay by card; payment had to be in cash, and I didn’t receive any receipt. I didn’t like that. In a country where it’s normal to use a card for a €0.90 purchase (like three chewing gums), it’s odd that a business wouldn’t accept cards. I can’t recall the last time I had to pay in cash in Estonia before staying here. Needless to say, I don’t use cash or a wallet in Estonia – everything is digital and activated on my phone.

Fast check‑in even though the staff only speaks Estonian and Russian, the hostel entrance and room are card‑controlled, and there’s free private parking right in front of the entrance.

Friendly reception, everything explained clearly about where things are. The kitchen is nice and clean. The walls in the rooms are very thin, so the noise from the neighboring rooms carries through at night. Otherwise the rooms are tidy.

Everything was super. I definitely recommend it to others. If I can choose again, I’ll pick Kagu Hostel. The family vibe is great.
