“Très déçus”
The waitresses at the meals were kind, but the price‑to‑quality ratio was disastrous. I can’t understand all the positive comments given how much we paid. This ryokan might have been beautiful thirty years ago, yet now it clearly needs a major overhaul. We were barely greeted with a hello, no tea or pastries as advertised. The bathroom is outdated, everything flakes off. The cold neon light, the stinky toilets that hit us right at the reception and again when we entered the dining room. The private onsen was almost cold and the terrace isn’t pretty at all. We’re forced to wear old slippers, whereas in other ryokans we’ve paid less for a sumptuous environment. The booking photos are misleading and no longer reflect reality.
