Il Casale Poggio del Tiglio is set in the green countryside of Etna, the atmosphere is very relaxing with a nice view of the Gulf of Catania, the owner and staff are courteous and attentive, the private parking is convenient, and the pool is very pleasant.

The environment is very quiet and relaxing; the pool is comfortable and clean, the surroundings are well maintained, and there are cute games for kids, but the free‑roaming dogs, even the larger ones, frightened the children a bit even though they were very calm and quiet, and there was no problem for adults.

The pool and its surroundings were spacious, the mattresses comfortable, and the room service kept up with cleaning and fresh linens regularly. The “glass pavilions” in the living room and kitchen let you stay outside without being bothered by mosquitoes. On the weekend a multi‑course dinner was offered upon request. The farm dogs were very friendly and rather reserved. I didn’t get a typical Sicilian breakfast, so I preferred to go to the nearby café and have granita instead. The pine trees kept dropping “leaves,” so I had to first shake off the dried beach towels. The ping‑pong table and playground were a bit run‑down, and the foosball table was only usable if you paid. In the room there was hardly any storage for my clothes because the existing wardrobes were already full of other guests’ items; only the hangers were free. The wardrobe space was tiny, so I couldn’t store all my clothes neatly. But that’s just high‑level whining.
