The location is very convenient, about 8 blocks from the train station, and I felt safe walking around with my luggage. The staff were friendly and helpful, and check‑in was easy. The dorm beds were comfy, with enough storage for my stuff, a privacy curtain, a personal lamp, and a charging station by the bed were all pluses. The communal bathrooms were spotless and well‑supplied, and the kitchen and other common areas were well kept. Even though I didn’t buy anything at the bar, they kindly gave me a large complimentary glass of sparkling water with lime after my train trip from Sacramento. The bar atmosphere was mellow and friendly, and any noise from people coming and going didn’t bother me once I went to bed. I’ll definitely stay again. The only downside is the older building’s quirks and imperfections, which give it a vintage charm that I like. The front door window was broken, which was disappointing, but I’m sure they’ll fix it.

The spot’s in a great area, the staff were welcoming, and the sheets and bathrooms were spotless. The bar had a lively atmosphere that got a bit noisy after midnight, which is to be expected, but overall the vibe was solid. Drinks were very reasonably priced, and everyone was friendly. It’s an excellent deal for solo travelers. No complaints to note.

The place doesn’t justify its cost. The front‑desk team were friendly, the bed was comfy, and the shower and toilet were clean. However, the room itself wasn’t clean, loud music blasted from the common area until 1 a.m., the air conditioner ran nearly all night, and the worst part was a dead‑fish smell that earned the name Fish Hostel. Not recommended.
