“En opplevelse av det ekte, vakre Japan”

When we arrived at Tsubakiso, we instantly felt at home. I’ve never felt so well taken care of by a lodging place as at Tsubakiso. Staying in a Japanese home in central Nara with such a wonderful host as Hirasawa‑san was unforgettable. She truly created a home for us in Nara. The room was comfortable and nicely decorated, and it was relaxing to look out at the garden trees. The room and surroundings were authentic, giving us a taste of real, beautiful Japan that’s hard to find as a visiting tourist. Breakfast was a special experience, absolutely worth it. We received small gifts tailored to us and to what we told her about our lives. We felt truly seen. I will never forget Tsubakiso. I didn’t always get the bidet function in the toilet to work, and the hot water in the shower was a bit unstable.

The host was incredibly kind and thoughtful, and the Japanese breakfast in the garden was simply amazing. The room was cozy and offered a lovely view of the garden.

“Fabuleux”

The welcome was fabulous by an adorable lady who spoke a few words of English. Small welcome gifts, drinks in the fridge, coffee, tea… Breakfast was excellent, and you can leave your luggage in storage. Traditional inn, very well placed and quiet. A little paradise with a golden lady. Nothing to report.

“Excellent sejour!!”

Our stay was excellent: the hotel was very well located, the room was very comfortable, and most of all, Mrs. Hirasawa, the owner, was super friendly and very attentive (she made our stay unforgettable)! Thank you, Mrs. Hirasawa :)

“Amazing Ryokan in a great location with a wonderful host”

I stayed at this Ryokan, only about a 6 minute walk from Kintetsu-Nara station, and it was fantastic. Noriko, the host, welcomed us warmly and made us feel at home. We ordered a traditional Japanese breakfast and it was amazing. We only skimmed Nara and its surroundings, so we’ll come back to Tsubakiso and see Noriko again next time we visit Japan.
