The hotel really captures the spirit of Ometepe Island—simple, natural, yet comfortable. The staff were all very friendly.

The location was great, within walking distance to restaurants, and there was a shop next door that was handy; the owner was friendly and offered us a choice between a cabana or a small room, so we picked the small room because it was raining heavily and we feared water might seep in. We ran into issues with the bathroom, but the owner fixed them. The only curtain separated the bathroom from the bedroom, the place didn’t look clean, the shower overflowed, the sink leaked water, and the toilet cistern kept filling, requiring us to fix it by hand each time we used it. The shower water was freezing cold with no hot option. Windows had glass slates, some of which were missing, so we could hear every single noise from the street. There was no room to store clothes—just one tiny shelf.
