Beautifully situated right by the water and close to the center
The view, the availability of boats, the warm welcome, and the kindness of the owners were all highlights of our stay
The rowing boats available for free were also a nice touch
The staff were also incredibly friendly and welcoming

I stayed in a lovely cabin that was perfect for a one‑night stop on my trip!
“Sijainti.”
The location was good, close to city services and by the water. The environment was kept tidy and well‑maintained. The cabin itself was generally functional, and I liked that the bathroom had a radio on 24/7. I think the price matched the level of accommodation I booked. I brought my own clean bedding because I had read that bedding is never included. At the beach there was a grill and a canoeing option. When I checked in, I had to call separately to get the key box code. Many places, both worldwide and in Finland, send a message with the check‑in instructions before the designated time if the stay is prepaid, but not in Eastern Finland. During the call I also learned that the Laavu cabin had no heating. That should have been understood beforehand, as the description of Laavu didn't mention heating. A bit of a dog‑friendly space, but the larger Laavu could only comfortably fit one adult for sleep, and it was cool at the start of September nights despite the weather. A former military man who had completed his service managed to get through two chilly nights. I slept somewhat poorly. I would only rent this type of accommodation in warmer months. After a few minutes of check‑in and getting the key for Laavu, I walked calmly along the beach to explore the surroundings. A strawberry tree matriarch aggressively shouted, “Looking for something?!” I politely said I was just getting to know the area. No problem, I’ve had much more refined encounters in third‑world countries on my travels. But a more sensitive and less cynical traveler might find that behavior unpleasant. The otherwise well‑running communal kitchen had no cutlery or tea/coffee cups. I was surprised to find a green tea in a glass bottle with a knife, the only utensil. The next day the knife was gone. There was less to wash.
“Korvasi hyvin hotellin, joka oli täynnä.”
The breakfast was missing, and the roof was leaking onto the bed while the room itself was dirty.
It was okay, nothing special. The view was just a construction site and houses, and the room was very cramped with a baby cot and a dog.
All good.
