I was greeted by the manager or owner when I arrived; I had tried to catch a small boat‑taxi to the hotel, but he declined and offered to pick me up instead. He also suggested a lake excursion, which I paid for along with the overnight stay and dinner. Lunch was taken at a different restaurant and paid separately. The next day, as I left, he drove me to the lake’s small port and then, to my surprise, asked me to pay for it. I was stunned—what was I supposed to pay for when everything had already been settled? He then produced an invoice that included the excursion, the trip from the port to the hotel, the return, and other fees he’d never mentioned before. At that point I didn’t have enough money, so I had to pay an extra $30. That’s why I consider it a scam. He should have informed me of all costs upfront before proceeding. I just thought he was being kind and helpful.

The place is fantastic with a breathtaking view! Joanna was attentive and always ready to drop us off from one spot to another and organize outings. She also prepared a light dinner on site. The breakfast was very good. The nights can get chilly, so bring warm clothes!

A very nice, spacious little house on Lake Titicaca with super friendly hosts! We received delicious food and were provided tea and hot water bottles for a warm night. We felt very comfortable.
