I appreciated the vintage feel and the quality of the accommodation, the comfortable mattress and furniture, that no one bothered our vehicle overnight, and the relatively low price. The house manager was friendly, the hot water was great, and we enjoyed the house cat. I didn’t like that the room wasn’t swept and had cockroaches, that two permanent residents in the house were swapping stories about buying $5 rocks of cocaine/meth, that we were only given a single, too‑small sheet to cover the bare and badly‑stained mattress. Though the mattress was good quality, it never seemed to have a fitted sheet. I didn’t like that both the kitchen and bathroom trash cans were overflowing for 36 hours straight. I didn’t like seeing a house with so much potential allowed to deteriorate into such a slovenly state by management and the owner. I didn’t like being so badly misled by the title of their ad: “Lovely Home in Westminster.”
