The hostel with pool access was really nice! There’s a café on the ground floor, which is great for the morning. Everything was very clean!

There was plenty of space in the common area, a rooftop view, and access to weight‑lifting and cardio machines, plus secure access and shoe storage, decent toilet and shower areas, and good bedding and towels. Outside shoe storage and day‑bag storage were excellent. On‑site dining and a swimming pool were also available. I enjoyed my stay, but there were some significant caveats and oversights. The property is sprawling with many amenities, and the staff are accustomed to high‑end guests and room service or outside catering, yet they also have to deal with the wild, sometimes raggedy backpackers (not me, but I’m among the younger crowd). From that, I felt a certain coldness of attitude from the staff toward us, except for one outstanding front‑desk staff member, a young lady. The addition of a high‑end bakery café and kitchen for us is a bad idea because the sleepy, trodden backpackers clash with the well‑heeled, well‑dressed lunch crowd of Bangkok. The café view is poor due to the clutter in our kitchenette and the confusing boundary crossover for us (using napkins and drinking iced water for the café users—if it’s for everyone, let’s have a bigger container and stop the bad, silent fumes). Another incident: I had to use the toilet by the pool with a beer that I’d been given earlier. I left it outside the toilet, and when I returned, the dining pool staff confronted me for taking the beer from the cooler without paying. She backed down after I told her to look at the camera. I don’t blame her, but clearly, the backpackers are an annoyance and there are ways to handle such conflicts and confusion—haha, already, my complaints as a backpacker are an annoyance. I can see that the hostel is a thorn to your operation. Suggestions: block off the hostel area from the café. Spaces: my room for 8 beds is too small for all 8 big bags and having a walkway for all 8 users. Suggestion: make it a 6‑bed room to make space for all the big hard bags. Otherwise, set up storage along the large walkway. For the first 3 nights, I dealt with 3 incidents of things falling off the top bed. All three involved people I knew and one personally: a power charger from the top bunk landed on my face at night, and not to mention his entire blanket later on.
