“Besonderer Ort mit altem Charme und Jugendherbergsflair”

The location is dreamy, the town is special, and the castle has great atmosphere. It’s a shame it’s being modernised now. I personally liked the historic charm. I booked half‑board, but on the last night I was served a dish that was cooked in totally burnt fat and was inedible. I returned it, and the staff refused to offer a replacement or even charge me for it. Instead they said other guests hadn’t complained, so it must be fine. That felt presumptuous. Just because it didn’t burn for someone else doesn’t prove mine didn’t. I expected more fairness; you don’t just let someone throw food back and go hungry to bed.

Breakfast was excellent. The number of parking spaces is insufficient—late arrivals aren’t guaranteed a spot, and basic room amenities are missing, such as hangers in the wardrobe, and the furniture, carpet, and other essentials are worn out and shabby.

Nice view, clean shared bathroom. No towel, and the parking access is poor.

A fantastic atmosphere on the castle grounds, rooms with rib vaults, simple but functional furnishings: bed, chair, table, sink in each room. Shared showers and toilets. Friendly dining on the castle, reasonably priced, and a great breakfast buffet!

“Einfach aber entspannt und das Essen/ das Frühstück zu einem guten Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis”

The rooms were very basic, but the reception and dining staff were friendly. I appreciated the relaxed vibe among the groups and the option to borrow games. The rooms need renovation, which is scheduled for next year.
