The Deluxe loft is our favorite; it offers plenty of space to move around, the dining table comfortably fits a family of four, the beds are comfy, and the bathroom is always clean. This is the nth time we’re staying, and the location is excellent too. The kitchen cutlery and crockery aren’t properly washed and cleaned most of the time, so we usually have to give them a thorough wash first.

My room had a loft, a full kitchen bench, a full-size dining table, a bigger fridge, a microwave, and a toaster. I’d like a longer stay.

The hotel is a lovely old place, but we were unlucky and ended up with a leaking shower screen. Water on the floor was dangerous, and a kind staff member gave us another towel and some bath mats to put on the floor. The Mercure is in a perfect spot close to the War Memorial and all the tourist spots. The shower needed bleaching and maybe new grout; the mold around the edge looked bad.

The proximity to AWM is a plus, but the ramps and stairs to find rooms are a hassle, and the signage isn’t that great.
