Sarah is hands down the sweetest host I’ve met; she speaks about six languages, so language barriers are a non‑issue for international travelers.

The spot had great views and a roomy flat, and the host was friendly until we pointed out that the place didn’t match the online hype. The bedroom ceiling was still being patched, there were no curtains, and the kitchen was a mess with a drawer front hanging off. The dining area, which looked stunning in photos, was cluttered with cardboard boxes, and the Christmas tree was still in its netting.

The host was incredibly warm and the place itself was exceptional, with music playing in every room. Everything was a bit unusual compared to what we expected, but it was still pretty nice.

The accommodation was centrally located and Sarah was friendly, doing her best when things went wrong. However, the space was cluttered with an unwanted baby grand piano and a broken heater, Wi‑Fi was down for a whole day, and a faulty shower flooded the bathroom so we skipped a shower on day two. The promised breakfast was cancelled because it wasn’t convenient for Sarah, who instead sent us to a good restaurant at her expense – we’d have preferred the on‑site breakfast as advertised.
