Breakfast every day was decent, and on the day we dined in the restaurant the eggs hit the mark; the travel boxes for our booked trips were excellent. I’d just gotten engaged a couple of days before and asked for a romantic touch, which they promised but never delivered. We told them our arrival time, yet we waited 45 minutes at reception for the room to be “cleaned.” I assumed it was for decorations, but they were actually cleaning the room—poorly. Lizard droppings were on the bed headrest. We later learned we were the only guests on the property, making the lack of clean rooms even more shocking. We were tired from our flight and decided to eat dinner at the place instead of going out; it was offered at $10 per person. When we settled the bill, we were sent a payment link by the owner, who then insisted it cost $15 each, despite being told it was $10 for what was basically average food. There were also cows and chickens roaming next to our room, waking us up between 5 and 6 am every day. While the bungalows themselves didn’t charge, there was no mention that because they’re inside the marine park there’s an extra $23 per person per day, turning what we thought was a budget stay into something pricier.
