Breakfast was good and the location was perfect. Unfortunately it wasn’t like the photos, there was no pool, no sofa bed as described, and the building was overall in need of repair. Food was offered but the wait was very long.

It was a five‑minute walk from the centre but SO quiet! Exactly what we needed: a comfortable bed, a good hot shower, and plenty of space. The owner was very kind and friendly.

I love Thaton, especially the friendly cook and the great location, but the pool was unusable, the bathroom was damp, smelly, and moldy, the mattresses were stained, taps were dripping and broken, and there were termite nests. Locals mentioned that the owner lives in Bangkok and hasn't invested in repairs after the flooding a couple of years ago, leaving the place in a bad state. The three young staff were friendly, yet the property needs money to become habitable.
