“Lovely stay in a great location. Hospitality was second to none”
The location was great, I felt taken care of, the supplies were nice—tea, coffee bags, cake—and breakfast was good. No issues.

The B&B looks stunning inside and out, and Chris is fantastic—it's obvious how much they love their property. We had a great stay and will definitely come back. The breakfast was lovely, and they even have cake waiting when you return from a walk, which is a nice touch. Nothing to complain about; we loved everything.

The stone building sits in a peaceful spot and is very convenient for trips to Chatsworth House, Bakewell, and Buxton. The owners are very welcoming and offer generous hospitality, including a variety of cakes and non‑alcoholic drinks. We stayed in the Nelson room on the first floor; it’s well proportioned but not ensuite, so we had exclusive use of a large bathroom a few steps down the corridor. The Wi‑Fi was good and password‑protected. Breakfast was served at a refectory table, giving us a chance to chat with other guests, and there was a wide selection of food that we had to choose the day before. The property is next to a pub with a restaurant that offers a good range of food. The car park can feel a bit cramped when fully occupied, and it’s a bit tricky to haul suitcases over the gravel to the side of the farmhouse. The flagstones around the front of the property are slightly uneven.

The location is fantastic, the hosts are friendly and helpful, the place is clean and tidy, and there’s a good variety of hot and cold soft drinks. Breakfast was great. On a personal note, the bed felt a little too soft for us.

The property is very clean and comfortable. It’s well positioned for visiting Chatsworth House, Bakewell, and for exploring many different walks. We stayed in a pet‑friendly room with a terrace, even though we usually avoid pet‑friendly rooms because of allergies. As the owner promised, the room was thoroughly cleaned and we didn’t notice any smell or trace of pets. Breakfast was cooked beautifully. We enjoyed chatting with other guests while eating, all of us sitting at a large table together. The only personal preference I have is that I’d rather the shower area be separated by a glass wall, a door, or a curtain instead of an open wet room; it was impossible to stop water splashing onto the basin area after each shower, making it hard to use the basin without getting your feet wet.
