The place is full of timeless, authentic pieces that give it a real character. The only hiccup was that breakfast wasn’t included even though it’s listed as a B&B – you could order it, but it cost a lot extra.

The Verhaegen tops our list of European B&Bs – and that’s saying something. Jan and Marc have lovingly restored the historic building, and the rooms feel luxurious. Service is flawless, and we switched up breakfast spots from a rococo dining room to a garden setting. Absolutely can't recommend it enough.

An incredible spot with a unique history, architecture, and décor. The staff are charming, and while the rates are a bit above average—especially for extras—the overall experience is worth it.

Everything from the smooth communication to the stunning room and building blew us away. The hosts were thoughtful and friendly, and the dog was a sweet bonus.
