Hotel Mondial

The bed was comfortable and the room was so quiet that I could sleep with the window open from Monday to Wednesday, though weekends were probably noisier because of the on‑site bar. The hotel sits on a nice square and is easy to reach by car, then walk to the centre. However, everything starts on the second floor and above, so you have to haul your luggage up at least two flights. The bathroom was tiny even though I had booked the better “superior” double room, and there was no working ventilation, which explains the mold spots on the shower ceiling. As soon as we arrived, the whole room smelled musty and possibly moldy. We were also given incorrect information about parking fees.

Located right in the centre, the room was clean with good bedding, and the breakfast was standard but with quality products. We chose this hotel because it advertised a private parking lot, but when we arrived we were told it was full. You either have to park far away and walk at least 30 minutes to the hotel, or pay for a nearby paid lot, which adds about €20. Make sure you can actually use the hotel parking before you confirm your reservation.

The place was quiet and calm, clean, and the bed was very comfortable. The only downside was that the fourth floor has no lift.

Breakfast was good and the staff were helpful. I didn’t realize there was no lift, otherwise I wouldn’t have booked it. Also, the shower was not a walk‑in.

The location was fine. The four floors, lack of insulation, and bad odors were the negatives.
