“Perfect vacation for a couple with a baby”
Everything was perfect!
“RUBBISH HOTEL AND STAFF”
Nothing at all worth the money. The service was terrible; the room smelled like paint and when I asked, the reception told me to leave the patio door open. My wife has COPD and was very upset by how they brushed us off. The restaurant felt like a cheap transport café; we couldn’t find a table and the staff were rude. The bar staff were also rude and abrupt. I won’t return. Even though it was all‑inclusive, we ate out most nights, sat at the pool bar, and a seat fell off—could have caused a nasty accident.
“Nice pools, great food and good location but we wouldn’t stay again due to value for what we paid”
I liked the main restaurant for meals; the food was good quality and varied and the service was prompt. Some items ran out constantly—like bowls—but the staff were never far away to help. The pools were great. The room was a little basic and didn’t have built‑in sofa beds as I thought it would for our kids. It was one of the un‑refurbished rooms and could use an upgrade. Walking past nicer rooms with nice outdoor furniture (unlike our plastic chairs) was a bit sad given what we’d paid. The exterior of the hotel—especially the hotel sign—needs a revamp. It looks so tired and outdated and made me think “oh god where have we booked?!” It was definitely a disappointing start.
“The prefer "some other" guests, and I have no idea which ones. Maybe those who book directly?”
I’m comparing this to my past stays at other Sentido Apollo hotels in Rhodes, which left only good memories. When we arrived by car, the parking staff told us we couldn’t park in the main lot because it was for “other guests.” I asked who the “other guests” were and they said “I don’t know, maybe VIP guests.” We were sent to a parking spot on the outskirts, literally at a garbage dump (see photos). The reception gave conflicting answers—one said we could use the main lot, the other said it was for hotel owners. Yet the lot was half filled (actually half empty) during the day with the same cheap rental cars as ours. This gave the impression that parking was for some privileged guests, which could be fine if the criteria were clear (like those who paid for a premium package), but the staff’s inability to explain it suggested the status system was based on personal decisions. It was awful to be treated like that. I completed the online check‑in for my family two weeks before arrival, but the receptionist said it didn’t matter and “all guests have to fill out the form in hand.” I refused, and he magically found the data I had provided online on his computer. They also offered me an email (about two weeks before arrival) to choose and add optional services. I selected late checkout. At arrival, the receptionist said “that doesn’t work like that, you need to ask on the last day before departure.” So I went back and asked—the other receptionist said that was not true, that I shouldn’t have waited until the last day. At midnight, on the last night, I received an email saying “your request is not fulfilled.”
“Toller Service, große Auswahl an allem”
The property almost has everything. We really enjoyed the a'la carte restaurants and the staff were genuinely attentive. The buffet restaurant always offered an impressive selection. The pool areas catered to every taste and the walk to the next drink was always short. Child care was plentiful, the evening programme was lightly advertised but apparently very fun. The classic beach is not to be expected and the buffet meals can get very loud and chaotic.
