“BEAUTIFUL BOUTIQUE HOTEL IN UNSAFE NEIGHBOURHOOD WITH UNHOUSED INDIVIDUALS AND ADDICTS, NO ELEVATOR - 3rd FLOOR WALK UP”
The hotel looks gorgeous, but there are two serious problems that weren’t mentioned before booking. First, it’s a multi‑story property with no elevator, which is unusual for a U.S. hotel; we only discovered this at 11 pm when we checked in and couldn’t change our plans. If you have mobility issues, heavy luggage, or bikes, carrying everything up several flights is unavoidable. Second, the location is about 1–2 blocks from a homeless shelter, and the parking lot is constantly occupied by unhoused people, which makes it unsafe for those driving a luxury car or walking a dog early or late. When we told the staff that the stairs were not doable for my husband’s physical limitation and that we didn’t feel safe leaving our car overnight, the hotel refused any refund or partial refund, even though we hadn’t checked in yet and these facts were unknown beforehand. We had to book another hotel at 11 pm that night. The property itself is lovely, but I strongly suggest calling ahead to confirm elevator access and to understand the surroundings before booking, and consider staying elsewhere if either issue matters to you.
