“Too much for too little”
The location was fine. The room was ridiculously overpriced for its size; the bathroom felt like a closet and there was not even a water boiler or glasses in the room. It was cold when we arrived, the oven temperature was set to 15 °C. The check‑in desk’s opening hours were very limited. Food options were extremely restricted, with only one expensive and overly complicated dinner choice per day.
We liked it so much we stayed an extra night. The historic site, its location amid incredible scenery and close to trails for viewing musk oxen, plus the sublime dining experience, all made it a joy.
The spot is great whether you’re out exploring Norwegian nature or just passing through on your way to Trondheim or further north, and it’s especially appealing for anyone interested in the rural history of Norway. I did miss a shoehorn and a hair dryer in my room, but I could probably request those next time.
The food and breakfast were good. The price for alcoholic drinks was far too high.
“Historische Anwesen mit Charme, passt in die grandiose Landschaft”
The historic property was great and well‑kept. The rooms were appealing, the new bathroom was very clean. Breakfast buffet was excellent with a wide selection. Only downside: there was just one menu to choose from and it was very expensive; no other alternatives were offered.
