I liked the location of the Guest House—it's in a tourist area on the street next to the Vatican, close to St. Peter’s Basilica, surrounded by many restaurants, cafés, and souvenir shops, with a large Pam supermarket and a taxi stand nearby. The Guest House itself has a small kitchen, a fridge, and everything needed to prepare breakfast. The room, however, was very noisy; sounds from neighboring rooms and the adjacent apartment—every toilet flush, cough, and conversation—could be heard. The TV only had sound working, and the internet was very weak.

I couldn’t get a code for various reasons, but there were three phone numbers on the door and no way to reach the guy by email, so I thought we’d have to sleep outside. The restaurant owner a little farther away got in touch and miraculously someone answered the phone. After a conversation he finally gave the codes over the phone. When we arrived from abroad, we had to walk over 18 km to see the place; we were hoping for a shower and a bed. The room was stuffy, there wasn’t even a bottle of water in the fridge even though it was on. The TV didn’t work. A lot of improvements are needed; I’m disappointed with this experience. The guy was supposed to come the next morning at 9 am, but because of the schedule we left at 8 am.

The property is a short distance from the Vatican. While a bus is needed to reach the city centre, we chose this spot for its quiet and safe environment, so all our expectations were met. It was a very enjoyable stay.
