The room and bathroom were huge, the owner was a bit rough around the edges, and the place was well positioned for visiting Yoro Park and the Reversible Destiny site, just a few train stops away. The ramen restaurant was good, where you take off your shoes at the entrance and sit on tatami. I was still in jet‑lag (fourth night in Japan), exhausted and frustrated that I couldn’t find sleep in the large, comfortable bed – that really affected my rating. The worst part: all the lights were connected. Either you slide the card into the slot and you get a Versailles‑style glow throughout the room and bathroom, or you remove it and it’s pitch black everywhere!?
