“Charming, old hotel with great location, almost on waterfront.”
The location is nice and the staff are friendly. The bed is comfortable and the old hotel has charm. On the downside, there’s a concrete sink and the shower has rough rocks; the old wooden windows won’t open. The air conditioning is set on very cold and high mode and can’t be adjusted; the TV was broken. The carpet is very dirty.
The location and price are good. The bartender upstairs gave the dirty glasses a very brief rinse in the sink and then finished; I’m not sure if there’s a small dishwasher, but it looked gross and the cleanliness was off.
“Would not recommend and not stay there again.”
The location is good and the bed is comfortable. Parking is included. However, everything looks very rundown in the corridors and on the rooftop; it really needs new carpet and paint everywhere. The bathroom fixtures are worn out, the whole bathroom is tiny and lacks any of the amenities expected from a place that calls itself a “resort.” No Kleenex, no shower cap, none of the things I’d expect from any decent hotel. No space to put anything, although I was told they were going to put up some shelves. The room had one bathrobe, even though we were two, and only one bottle of water. There were no hot‑drink cups, wine glasses, a coffee machine, or an ice bucket. The hotel was very expensive for what it was. I don’t mind paying for a good hotel, but this one was far below my expectations. On the rooftop, we had lunch with a group of ten and we were the only people there. The server was super nice and he couldn’t help it, but one order came with a hair in it and it took about half an hour for the new order to arrive even though there were no other guests. The food was mediocre at best. There is a lovely breakfast room next to the lobby, but no breakfast was served; it stood empty. Yet another disappointment.
“Great beach front stay!!”
The vintage property is fun and the staff are great! The casual rooftop restaurant is perfect and the food is delicious.
“The worst we have had. We will not stay there again.”
The rooftop restaurant and view are nice, parking is convenient, and the location is good for the Pageant of the Masters. The room was the worst I’ve had after booking many rooms on the hotel’s website. The photos don’t match what we got. The room was narrow—you had to push yourself into the bed on one side; the portable air‑conditioner was an eye‑sore with a huge silver vent snaking around the room; the sink faucet wasn’t connected properly; the bathroom window had a huge crack; the furniture was more than “distressed”; and the window shades were torn, one with a huge hole. We asked for rooms not on the street—specifically called in with that request when booking months before—but that was ignored. The street rooms are very noisy, loud, with music beating through the night, so we couldn’t sleep. I would definitely urge management to upload accurate pictures so guests can make an informed decision. The staff were very new and didn’t know answers to any local questions we asked. We also didn’t get a call when our room was ready, so we stayed away from the hotel until after check‑in time to make sure it was ready.
