The view is great even from the bed, and the terrace is huge and lovely – a perfect place to spend time. The host was the best part; he was incredibly helpful and did everything for us. He offers his own tours and acted as our private driver, taking us everywhere we wanted whenever we needed.

The room, terrace view, bed quality, hot water, breakfast, and the hosts’ kindness and availability were all perfect—nothing was lacking.
The balcony view was beautifully arranged and the host was friendly, even arranging an onward trip for us and sharing lots of local sights. However, the stay was disappointing: we didn't feel welcomed upon arrival, the real hosts were absent and relatives left us in a half‑finished room. The air was damp and stuffy, with only a fan and no air conditioning, leading to mold on the wall and on the pillows. The bathroom was moldy, smelled strongly of mildew, and the door was hard to close. In the first night two geckos were in the bath, which we tolerated, but the second night we found a huge cockroach in the bathroom and two large ones on our belongings and in the curtains, plus many smaller ones on the floor. We tried contacting the host, but she was unreachable. That night was the worst of our Sri Lankan trip, and I definitely wouldn't recommend it; a lot needs to be cleaned up.
