“Short stay, good location, but wouldn’t stay again.”
The location was convenient, close to a petrol station and Starbucks, and the 10‑minute drive to Longleat was easy. On arrival we were greeted by staff who told us to wait—no issues there—and the pub and dining area looked nice, though we didn’t use them. While waiting to check in, we could hear two staff members, one a manager, shouting in the kitchen; it was unclear what was happening. Another guest appeared and the staff argued over whether a staff member should serve them because they seemed too intoxicated. The manager continued the argument in front of us, rudely insisting the staff serve the customer, claiming she is the superior. The situation was mortifying, but the staff member who ended up checking us in performed well with clear instructions and helpfulness. The room was small but acceptable; the bed was comfy. Unfortunately, the bathroom had mold on the tiles around the bath and on the shower curtain, and the room ceiling also had mold. The thin walls let us hear everything downstairs, including the TV in the morning, which was very loud.
