“Inexpensive for the location, great breakfast, some discomforts”
The inn sits right in the heart of the tiny town of Scopello, with paid parking nearby and a small fridge in the common dining area; the bed was comfortable and the breakfast was delicious and plentiful, all at a reasonable price for the location. Maria, however, spends most of her time on the couch in the ground‑floor living area, making us feel like intruders, and the second day the ground floor had a strong stale tobacco smell, so someone must have smoked inside. The spiral staircase leading to the bedrooms is steep and narrow, which makes moving luggage a struggle; the bathroom in the room is very tiny, lacking a shelf for toiletries, with a shower curtain that had two rings torn off (we fixed it) and it stuck to us, plus lime deposits on the faucet and shower head that hindered smooth water flow, and thick dust on the ceiling ventilation grid. Voices and laughter from a nearby bar were audible into the early hours of the morning in the bedroom.
