“Our room wasn’t great”
The innkeeper was really lovely and friendly, and the bed was comfortable too. As soon as you open the door the room smells musty and a bit like cigarettes (despite the property being smoke‑free). I realized after a while that the smell was actually coming from the AC. The bathroom was also in pretty poor condition (cracks in tiles, nowhere to hang towels—not even a hand towel). Our room was right opposite the staff entrance to the diner, so we had no view, and the curtains didn’t shut fully, leaving a gap we felt the need to try and cover. The diner staff talking outside on breaks/in the morning was pretty loud. For a one‑night stay it wasn’t worth trying to change rooms after a tiring day/drive, but perhaps our room was one of the worst ones. Even though we booked over six months in advance, I wouldn’t recommend it based on the room we had and the fact I’ve seen other reviews of people saying the same thing and the issues haven’t been looked into obviously.
