The guided treks were incredible, the guide was experienced and knowledgeable, and I felt very safe; the surroundings were spectacular with plenty of activities, and some staff were very helpful. In the monsoon season, keeping the property clean was impossible; rooms were wet and dirty in spots, tubs were green, and the pool was full of leeches and small frogs, making it feel more like a hostel than a four‑star hotel—expect a hostel vibe if that’s what you want, but it may disappoint those hoping for a romantic lodge.

“Lovely stay. Would like to come back here again.”

The property is truly worth the money and effort to reach by road; it’s better to travel via the 6th Mile on the Munnar highway instead of the Thattekad route because the forest path is narrow and elephants are likely. Rooms were spacious and comfortable, the swimming pool lovely, and the menu excellent given the remote location. The staff and cook were very helpful, and the local guide Chellappan—an absolute gem—led a morning trek to a wonderful waterfall for a refreshing dip. I’d love to return to spend more time here.

The place had a nice vibe and was tidy, but there was no hot water and the reception never replied to my messages.

“Please and nice stay but could ease up and reduce the amount of the rooms as this is very costly.”

The resort was spotless and the staff were very helpful, keeping everything in good shape, yet the road to the property is rough and you need clear directions instead of relying on Google Maps.

“Wonderful”

Everything was great, but reaching the hotel is a challenge: it sits deep in a forest, about 40 km+ from the nearest town, and only jeeps can get there; the last 100 m is steep, so our Uber’s engine stalled three times in that stretch.
