The hotel's location was ideal, being opposite an amusement park, yet it remained quiet on a Saturday night
The staff were incredibly helpful and made my stay more enjoyable

“The staff at The Sea Hotel are fantastic! So friendly and very helpful,!”
The location was fantastic, right next to a beautiful beach and close to town and the bus station that serves all areas of the North East. A great family fun park was opposite our hotel. Everything couldn’t be better. The staff were friendly and helpful; the young receptionist carried my bags up and down the stairs for me. I couldn’t ask for more.

Breakfast wasn’t that good; after staying here before we were used to it. On this occasion the plates and food were colder than expected, and the toast was so under‑done it wasn’t really toast, so not a lot was eaten. I think the staff had more on their hands sorting out the lighting as most of the lamps had failed at the same time. Our room was in the car‑park rooms, which was fine once we got rid of the spiders hanging from the ceilings. Anyway, the gentleman at reception was extremely helpful and even carried my case to our room.

MISLEADING ROOM PHOTOS! The room we received was materially different from the advertised photos for the room type we booked. The actual room was of much lower quality and very dated than any of the advertised photos. The bathroom was completely different! We contacted reception immediately but they said they had very few rooms that actually matched their advertised photos, and they could not move us to a different room because the hotel was fully booked. They offered no solution or refund and didn’t even apologize! The room itself was small and dirty. There was no AC and it got insanely hot at night even with the windows open. Outside was a very noisy street with cars racing at midnight. I was fooled by their room photos to book the hotel for holiday and they absolutely ruined it!

All the staff was so friendly but in particular the man on reception upon checking us in and out. Could not do enough to help, so friendly as we arrived and made my daughter who's 9th birthday it was feel like a Princess, so amazing. Night time reception man was amazing too, getting us cold ice water etc. when bar was shut. Location us just perfect, right next to fair and beach. Amazing breakfast, man on reception recommended the loaded hash browns and they didn't disappoint. My eldest daughter is celiac and they had a good range for her, for breakfast. Would definitely recommend and stay again. Nothing we loved it all
The bedroom (207) was unbelievably warm. There was a fan in the room but it just pushed the warm air around, making it hard to sleep.
