Great location, ski in, ski out, nice and warm with an open fire and sofas in the common area, outstanding food from Chef Kane, the best Thai curries we have had and Full English breakfasts too. Lovely helpful Aussie staff took us to the lift in the van 10 mins away for the 1st 2 days until we were confident enough to ski in and out on the lift a 3 minute walk away from the front door. Excellent place. 100% recommend. Coming home

Breakfast was pretty minimal but adequate. The lodge sells lift passes for Madarao and Tangram at a cheaper rate than the resort. There’s a great lounge area and excellent beer on tap. The staff are also fantastic.

A fantastic place to stay; the staff were amazing and friendly, all Aussie, which made everything easy. Breakfast and dinners were great, and we loved the tap beer downstairs. I’d definitely come back—top spot and close to the lifts. The crowd was great!

The stay was incredibly warm and friendly. Michael, the owner, goes out of his way to make guests feel at ease. Chef Kane runs the kitchen, cooking delicious meals, taking time with everyone, and giving a home‑like vibe—he’s just a great guy. The ski lift is a few minutes’ walk from the hotel. Lift passes can be bought at the hotel, and ski rentals run smoothly through the hotel. If you’re not skiing or snowboarding, you’ll need a car. When we were there, the snow quality wasn’t great, so we went out every day. Because we didn’t have a car, the hotel took us to the train station each day (about 10 minutes by car) and picked us up again. We texted while on the train, and they met us upon arrival, all at no extra cost. I’ve rarely experienced such excellent service. Near the wood‑fire, there’s a comfortable sofa set where you can chat with other guests and have a beer. Finally, the beds, pillows, and shower are very comfortable, and the jacuzzi is delightful.
