“Come sentirsi a casa”
We just returned after a week at SIRENA, using some of the FANTAZIA services. The building itself is hardly worth mentioning; SIRENA is the newer part, kept in excellent condition with modern furnishings. FANTAZIA, although older, doesn’t feel noticeably different. Rooms at SIRENA are spacious, fully equipped, and have a bidet; the cleanliness of the rooms and the exterior areas is really good. We received daily housekeeping with a fresh set of towels each day. The resort has six pools and an aqua park for adults and kids; I would have liked a bit more attention to pool cleaning, especially the larger ones, because the unused pool bottoms were dirty and I personally saw a couple of plastic bags at 9 am. The restaurant serves international cuisine and I’d rate it a 6, which is low, even though the fish was fresh at least on the first day, after that the dishes tend to repeat in different forms. We were on an all‑inclusive plan, so we could eat at any time, and even during off‑hours we could eat at certain spots. The staff at BRAVO CLUB, with 30 years in the industry, were good; even though the team was half the size when we were there, they kept the entertainment level high. They were never intrusive or pushy, always friendly and polite. The resort is probably one of the furthest from the airport, about an hour’s drive. The sea is very close and you can reach it in 5 minutes on foot from any part of the resort. I give the beach a 6; it’s not beautiful, and in Egypt there are better spots to enjoy a splendid sea and a magnificent coral reef. I’m not the type of traveler who keeps returning to places he’s already been, so I won’t go back to SIRENA. The demerit note concerns the SPA, which I found truly nice, clean, and staffed with always courteous people (shout‑out to Felice, who made us feel at home every time we went to the SPA), and the salt room is a must‑try for full relaxation. The demerit goes to a guy I think was named Alibaba, who performed three massages for me. At the end of the second massage, while escorting me out, he asked for a “little gift.” “Friend, I’ll give you a gift, but you absolutely shouldn’t ask me for it; it should come from my own will.” When he realized I wouldn’t give him a gift, he was not at all courteous or kind during my last massage.
