I booked a two‑night stay at Ella Unagolla Edge Resort & Garden Retreat. The room was exactly what I expected: new, clean, with a great shower that had hot water, a very comfortable bed, a working fan, and a balcony. The owner was very friendly and gave me tea as a welcome gesture during check‑in. The breakfasts were excellent, and when I was leaving early on a bike trip, I asked for breakfast at 5.30 am and it was ready right on time. It would have been nice to have an electric kettle in the room. The location is a bit far from Ella, about 2.5‑3 km; on a scooter it’s fine, but walking would be tough because of the elevation. The entrance to the hotel isn’t very convenient right now because of ongoing renovations.

A great place close to Ella. The host was super friendly and attentive, constantly offering tea, and the room was fantastic.

The staff were very attentive, ready to advise and help with leisure arrangements. The dining area had a large table, the rooms were spacious, the shower had hot water, and there was a blanket available.

The house was beautiful, the rooms comfortable, and everything felt quite new. It’s not far from Ella. The hosts, Pasindu and his dad, were very friendly and helpful, arranging tuk‑tuks for us, preparing breakfast, and assisting with anything we needed. We even had a fun little party together. Thank you!

The building is new, the interiors are also new, with modern bathroom solutions, lighting, and solid finishes. The food ranges from basic to excellent, perhaps a matter of taste. The gentlemen are very helpful, explaining, organizing, and supporting. The place has great potential—it just needs to finish the investment and grow. It’s hard to find because there’s no sign or roadside advertising.
